Salt

Slightly north of Fuheis is the ancient town of Salt, once the capital of Jordan. A stop here transports visitors back to a time of picturesque streets and dazzling houses with long-arched windows from the late Ottoman Period.

In Salt, you can visit the Salt Archeological and Folklore Museum that displays artifacts from pre-historic times to the Islamic era. Also located here is the Holy Land institute for the Deaf.

This progressive school educates and houses deaf children from all over Jordan and tours are available upon request.
